Digital X-Ray

Upper Cervical Practitioners take specialized x-rays in order to determine a patient's listing. This listing determines the type of adjustment the patient needs in order to clear out their subluxation. The information from the x-ray is the foundation to the care delivered by the Upper Cervical Doctor. Therefore, it is imperative that the doctor utilize the proper x-ray equipment in order to acquire such precise x-rays. This results in an absolute level of confidence in the accuracy of the x-rays, which leads to proper analysis and, therefore, a proper adjustment for the patient.

Standard x-ray equipment is mass-produced for the traditional medical market. The loss of alignment that occurs when utilizing the standard equipment can result in misrepresentation of the anatomy resulting in miscalculation of a patients listing, further resulting in an incorrect adjustment, which will enable the patient to get well. Align SLO’s L-frame x-ray system enables our doctors to take all of your x-rays with perfect alignment. 

All x-rays are developed digitally to eliminate the use of film and chemicals.

Digital Infrared Thermography

Thermography is a medical technology that is FDA approved as a neurodiagnostic procedure. 

Thermography simply reads the heat from underneath the skin on the back of the neck, which is controlled by the brainstem, in order to allow us to determine if the adjustment is necessary.  If the adjustment is found to be necessary, then you will receive a post-thermographic evaluation to determine if the proper adjustment was made. 

Titronic Thermographic Technology does not require the use of any radiation and is our most objective measure used at Align SLO.  This procedure is used on most visits to objectively monitor the course of your care.

Chiropractic Techniques

Our office specializes in Upper Cervical Chiropractic. We utilize this technique as the foundation for most of the chiropractic care that is provided. Full-spine techniques are used to provide specific chiropractic care tailored to each individual. We specialize in pre-/post-natal care and provide Webster technique to pregnant women. ​

Arthrostim

Dr. Dom utilizes an Arthrostim chiropractic tool to help facilitate some of his adjustments and for those who are hesitant of traditional chiropractic adjustments. It uses a true toggle recoil mechanism that is comfortable and repeatable. The Arthrostim operates in line with the body’s low betasomatomotor rhythm. It allows adjusting to occur in ways and positions that cannot be achieved manually. 

The ArthroStim works by delivering a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust to a joint or area of the spine. This instrument, which is held and used by a chiropractor, provides rapid and repeated, but low-force, impulses that stimulate sensory nerve receptors called proprioceptors, helping to return joints to their proper motion and alignment. It is often described as a precise, less jarring alternative to traditional manual adjustments and is beneficial for patients who are nervous about being "cracked," have acute pain, or are infants or the elderly
